Writing Guidelines
Here at The Magazineer, we love magazines. If you do too, and you’d like to do some writing for us, please get in touch with the form below. Be sure to tell us about any relevant experience and include links to samples of your writing.
We’re looking for these kinds of posts:
Magazine Reviews. Got an interesting issue of a magazine? Sure you do. Photograph the cover and a few inside pages. Then write down what you thought of it. Everything is fair game: design, content, advertising. List some things you like, and some things you don’t. Be sure to do your homework: link to the magazine’s website, list the subscription and cover prices, say where it’s from.
Store Reviews. What’s your favorite local shop? Tell us where it is and why you like it. Go the extra mile: Ask someone at the store where they get their magazines, who picks them, and why they choose to stock what they stock.
News. Got your ear to the ground? Tell us what’s happening in the magazine biz and why it’s important.
Ideas. This is the place for smart thoughts on magazine business, culture, and the future. Impress us.
Interviews. Got a favorite magazine or magazine maker? Drop ‘em a line and ask them what makes them tick. Send us the results.
How To’s. Tips and tricks from experienced magazine makers.
Got something that doesn’t quite fit into one of those categories? Drop us a line and we’ll figure it out.
Thanks,
– The Magazineers
